This past weekend I flew to Kansas City with the kids for John's run/walk. This was the third year for the John Glaser Memorial 5K which starts and ends at John's fire station in Shawnee. It was a quick weekend but it was so great spending time with family and friends. Brecken and Emma both loved the plane ride. Brecken has flown a few times with John and me but this was Emma Grace's first trip. She kept saying, "This is the best ever!"
When we arrived in Kansas City, we met my parents and John's family at our favorite BBQ joint, Oklahoma Joe's. We had an early birthday celebration for Brecken and me.

We had to do a little shopping on Mass Street in Lawrence Friday afternoon to get the kids warm clothes. We're still wearing shorts and short sleeves down here in Texas and it was supposed to be in the 30's the morning of the run...BRRRR! Nana and I got the kids warm coats, gloves and hats so they were all set for the race on Saturday.

Saturday morning was freezing! I think I'm used to this Texas weather already. We finished John's run and then met everyone at First Watch for breakfast. This has become such a fun tradition with our family and friends.

The rest of the weekend we spent hanging out with Nana and T in Lawrence. Grandpa T was especially excited because they were able to cheer on the Cats to another victory in Manhattan on Saturday. They were back just in time to play with us after naps.

Uncle Steve picked us up from the airport Sunday night so we're home safe and sound! It sure makes you appreciate your friends and family even more when you get to see them! We miss everyone but hope to be back next year for Daddy's run!
