Kansas - Part 1

Last week, the kiddos and I drove back to Kansas for about a week.  This was the first time I had ever driven that far with both kids by myself...I'm the type that gets in the car on a road trip and is asleep within the first 5 minutes.  Obviously, that couldn't happen so with two kids and the phrase "Are we there yet?" and plenty of really unhealthy snacks, I was good to go!

On Sunday, we visited Daddy's fire station.  The kids loved doing what they always do there...trying on fire helmets, sitting in the truck, getting a tour, and just being silly with the firefighters.  They are all such an amazing group of guys...we miss them lots!

Emma and Mr. Brent -- he mowed our yard for us after John passed away and Emma LOVED watching him every week.  I love this picture of the two of them!

Brecken holding the Jayhawk from Daddy's locker and his fire helmet signed by Bill Self.  I have John's helmet that he was wearing the night of the fire and the firefighters thought that it was only appropriate to have this one in his locker.  So sweet!

Afterwards, we went over to Camille and Mike's house to meet their newest addition, Miss Anna Michael.  What a little doll!
