Blessed

Reflecting on yesterday's events makes me feel even more blessed.  Sure, it was a rough day, I'm not going to lie.  Every year is on that date.  But, it also puts things into perspective when you have so many people that care for you and your family.  Every little thing helps you get through the day.

I received so many sweet messages and voicemails from friends and family.  One of my biggest fears is that people move on.  When tragedy occurs, it's plastered all over the news and people think about it because it's fresh in their minds.  But, when it's not in the media, do people remember?  Based on my experiences from the past couple of years, I've realized that yes, people forget but there are plenty that remember.

My life has been full of many "firsts" with my husband.  First vacations, first babies, first words, etc.  It's also been full of many "firsts" by myself.  Emma's first steps, Emma's first birthday, the list could go on and on.  Yesterday happened to be one of them.  Brecken graduated from Preschool at Apple Creek.  I think God knew that I needed a big distraction to help me get through the day!

After graduation lunch, I took the day off and went shopping while the kids were at Aunt Nee's.  I needed a "me" day to help get my mind off of things.  A few hours later, I was blessed to come home to beautiful flowers from my dear friends and a clean house thanks to my sister...two of my favorite things!

Later that evening, one of my best friends came over and brought me a special treat...a chocolate chip blizzard from Dairy Queen and a gift card for a pedi.  Things like this are so special and remind me that despite everything that's happened in my life, I'm blessed with two beautiful children and amazing family and friends that care for us and love us.

Thanks again to everyone for everything you did...you truly know how to make a girl feel special.
